JML Response to current COVID-19 Outbreak

Dear valued customer,

In light of the constantly changing situation with regard to the Covid-19 outbreak, we at JML want to reassure you that we have a robust Disaster Recovery Plan in place which has been routinely tested as part of our ISO 27001 accreditation.

Our business support function is able to operate remotely with no impact on service levels and we are in a strong position to ensure business continuity in all scenarios including enforced working from home and prolonged periods of staff sickness.

Rest assured we are following all government guidelines and will continue to monitor and adjust according to the changing situation.

We understand that as an emergency service, it is vital that you are able to continue to operate through this current crisis and that you may have questions of your providers in relation to how they will support you in your delivery. With that in mind, below are some FAQ’s along with our responses.

Do you foresee Covid-19 having an impact on the ability of your company to support Chronicle?

JML do not foresee any impact on our ability to continue to support your Chronicle installation. 


Please provide details of any potential impact Covid-19 could have on that performance.

The only impact we can foresee are the cancellation of any training events or any visits to force sites in accordance with government or force guidance. We have the ability to provide training remotely via use of tools such Microsoft Teams which can also be used to talk users through any identified issues to replace site visits.


Can you still supply RFID equipment for our Chronicle Armouries?

We have already liaised with our RFID suppliers who have confirmed that they are in a position to continue supply without interruption. We also hold a substantial stock of RFID items as part of our disaster recovery plans.


Please provide details of any steps taken by your organisation to prevent widespread contamination from Covid-19, including but not limited to, advice given to staff and/or your supply chain.

All staff have been fully briefed to follow government advice regarding sanitation, contact, identification of symptoms and self-isolation. 

Office-based staff are working from home where possible and those still in the office are maintaining a distance of at least 2 metres at all times.  Staff are required to clean their desks and equipment at the end of each day using supplied alcohol based cleaner.  Hand sanitiser is available at various points within the office. 

Staff have been advised to check their temperature before coming to the office or going to customers and to self-isolate if their temperature is raised.

Staff who may be required to visit customers have been given the following advice:

In determining whether you can go to a customer, please consider the following:

  1. Are you, or anybody you live with, displaying symptoms of Coronavirus?  If so, you must self-isolate for a minimum of 14 days.
  2. Check with the customer in advance what the force policy is regarding face to face meetings.  Some forces have already advised us there will be no non-critical face to face meetings until the end of July and other forces have policies in place.
  3. Confirm (by email) any appointments directly with the customer you are meeting with one week in advance and again the day before.
  4. Do you feel comfortable making the visit? If not, you are under no obligation to carry out the meeting.


How is your organisation intending to respond to Covid-19?

JML has fully tested it’s Business Continuity Plan without any issues.  The Senior Management Team (SMT) at JML are tracking government advice and all staff are being kept updated regularly.

JML policy is to pay full pay for periods of sickness up to 2 weeks and this will be extended, if necessary, to ensure staff do not come into work when displaying symptoms. All staff are able to work from home concurrently.  We are currently operating a rota system for office-based staff to work from home alternately in order to reduce social interaction.


How does your organisation intend to limit any impact Covid-19 could have on company performance?

Telephone and email support for customers is unaffected and will continue. Performance of the Chronicle software suite is unaffected. JML is working with customers to deliver consultancy remotely, where appropriate and possible.

Implementation of new modules may be delayed and will be re-planned as soon as government advice and customers allow.
